Notifications: Staying Up to Date

Tanguear keeps you informed about everything that matters to you in the tango community — without overwhelming you.

What triggers a notification

You will receive notifications for:

• Friend requests — when someone wants to connect with you
• Partner requests — when someone invites you to dance
• Messages — when you receive a new direct message
• Event reminders — before an event you have marked as attending
• Community activity — when a friend posts, comments on your photo, or marks attendance at an event you are also attending
• School broadcasts — messages sent by schools you are a member of

Managing your notifications

Go to Settings > Notifications to choose which types of notifications you want to receive. You can turn each category on or off independently.

Push notifications

If you granted notification permission when you registered, Tanguear sends push notifications directly to your phone even when the app is closed. You can always change this in your phone's system settings.

The notification centre

All recent notifications are collected in the notification centre inside the app. Tap the bell icon to see your notification history and catch up on anything you may have missed.
