Scanning Tickets at the Door
Tanguear includes a built-in QR code scanner so you can validate tickets directly from your phone on the day of the event.
How to scan
- Open the Tanguear app
- Go to the event and open the Scanner
- Point your phone camera at the attendee's QR code
The scanner responds instantly:
| Result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Valid | The ticket is genuine and has not been used yet — the attendee is checked in |
| Already checked in | This ticket has already been scanned — the person has already entered |
| Expired | The event date has passed and the ticket is no longer valid |
One scan per ticket
Each ticket can only be checked in once. After scanning, the check-in time is recorded automatically. This prevents a single ticket from being used by multiple people.
Who can scan?
Only the organiser (provider or publisher) who created the event can scan tickets for that event. This ensures that ticket validation is secure and controlled.
Tips for the door
- Make sure your phone has a working camera and good lighting
- Ask attendees to show the QR code at full brightness
- If an attendee has added the ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, they can present it directly from there
- If there are connectivity issues, the scanner will queue check-ins and sync when the connection returns
